Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive medical imaging technique that uses a magnetic field and radio waves to create detailed images of the soft tissue and organs in your body.

MRI does not use any ionizing radiation and has no known harmful effects.

Our Siemens 1.5T wide bore scanner (one of 2 in Canada) offers the latest technology to complete your scan faster in a more comfortable experience.

We perform both dedicated and screening MRI’s to align with your care provider to suit your health care needs.

Whole Body MRI

Our types of MRI scans

    • A full body MRI scan uses no radiation to scan the whole body

    • Detection of cancers, inflammation, or obstructive processes in the body

      *Ankles may not be visible for people taller than 5’9” or 175cm. Arms and feet are not included.

    • Looks at organs like the liver, pancreas, kidneys

    • Examine blood flow, blood vessels

    • Cause of pain or swelling

    • Examines lymph nodes

    • Detection of brain pathologies such as stroke, swelling, and tumors

    • Assessment of trauma and blood vessels

    • Surgical planning

    • Examination of structures such as the inner ear and sinuses

    • Detection of problems with the bones, soft tissues, nerves and discs

    • Can help determine cause of pain, weakness or numbness

    • Provides information regarding rotator cuff tendons

    • Injuries to biceps tendon

    • Damage to the labrum

    • Detect damage to cartilage, tendons and ligaments around the shoulder joint

  • Evaluation of meniscus tears

    • Injuries to ligaments, cartilage and tendons to knee joint

    • Anatomical assessment of chest wall and heart vessels

    • Can help determine cause of pain, problems affecting lymph nodes

    • Blocked blood vessels

    • Assessment of ligaments, muscles and tendons

    • Detailed view of signs of arthritis, ligament and tendon tears

    • A Fluoroscopy-guided injection of contrast is done directly in the joint to evaluate important tissues structures in greater detail

    • Joints that can be looked at include the shoulder, hip, knee and wrist joint
